Several years ago at Christmastime there was a lead scare related to toys form China. A friend's son was supposed to play either a recorder or slide horn (you know those rather obnoxious sounds) for a school program. He wouldn't play! The teacher called home and Dad learned what was going on. He told Mom, and Mom said, "Oh, that's not the half of it." She showed Dad a huge box in a closet. The boy had the box filled with toys. "He won't play with these and won't let his little sister play with the ones that are hers. He said they are poison," because he'd seen the news story. The dad called the teacher back and told her she would have to let him play something else or "fake it" with the instrument in question. Thought you'd enjoy this one, Sue.
